As part of the community building efforts of Fool.com they have now launched a new feature called CAPS. It allows users to make predictions on individual stocks - should you buy or sell now. It’s based off of the “Wisdom of the Crowds” book by James Surowiecki. This is a brilliant book and very insightful on all predictive models. Fool takes the concept in a another direction by giving a weighted average to the top rated users. This defects the collective concept. We will see if users can game the system.
